SA-8 A.M. McGILVRAY

A. M. McGilvray - SA8 - heading out to sea

Constructed in 1980 by NQEA in Cairns Queensland. One of twenty two vessels constructed for the Royal Australian Navy and the Australian Army between 1979 & 1981. Purchased by the Shoalhaven Marine Rescue Association in the early 1990’s. Vessel refitted and converted to Marine Rescue specifications.

Accreditation

Accredited by the New South Wales State Rescue Board as a Category Three Rescue Vessel. Accredited for search and rescue up to 15 nautical miles to sea.

SA-24 TSRV CROOKHAVEN

TSRV Crookhaven (SA24) underway in the Crookhaven Estuary

The new SA24 has without doubt been the biggest project undertaken by Shoalhaven Marine Rescue Association. The finished vessel, in the words of the builder, “is built like a tank”. Welded alloy hull and superstructure, twin Cummins B220 6 cylinder turbo diesels and ZF gearboxes.
