On 25 April 2008 The Greenwell Point Bowling and Recreation Club Fishing Club presented SMRA President Bill Carter with a cheque for $4000 which was the proceeds of the Fishings Clubs annual Easter Fishing Carnival. The cheque was presented by Steve Brien and the money will go towards the purchase of a new rescue vessel to replace SA-8 which is now 28 years old.
